Dr Meenakshi Bhat completed her MBBS from Mysore University in 1987 with 7 gold medals and first rank in the university. She did her MD in Paediatrics from KEM hospital, Mumbai and topped Mumbai University with a gold medal. Specialized training in the UK included MRCP (Paed) from Ireland and a 4 year super-specialty training in Clinical Genetics from London culminating in CCST award. She worked as Consultant in Clinical Genetics at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London before returning to Bangalore in 1995.

Dr Vinu Narayan is currently working as Consultant in Medical Genetics. After completion of MD in Pediatrics from B J Government Medical College, Pune, she went on to receive her 3 years super-specialty training in Medical Genetics (DNB-SS) from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital New Delhi. Dr Vinu is the recipient of the “President Gold Medal” award for DNB-SS in Medical Genetics. She has many awards to her credit for paper presentations at national and international conferences.
She is specialised in diagnosis, management and counselling of patients/families with various genetic disorders, dysmorphic syndromes, skeletal dysplasias, neuromuscular disorders, metabolic disorders, autism, malformations, intellectual disability, deafness, albinism, thalassemia, short stature, haemophilia, consanguinity and preconceptional counselling of couple for genetic disorders.
She has expertised in genetic management of pregnancies complicated by aneuploidy risk, teratogen exposure, intrauterine infection, fetal ultrasound abnormality, recurrent pregnancy loss, unexplained still births/neonatal deaths. Extended genetic evaluation of family members with history of genetic conditions like tuberous sclerosis, huntington chorea, duchenne muscular dystrophy, familial cancers and others.

She is especially interested in handling emotional aspects of parents who are faced with difficult pregnancies due to previous miscarriages or fetal abnormalities.
She helps parents cope with their emotions during rough times due to presence of a fetal abnormality, pregnancy losses or other family issues.
